Coffee with Nicole

Real Conversations in Our Neighborhood Coffee Shops

One of the things I hear most often from people across Portland is that they feel disconnected from the people making decisions at City Hall. Politics can start to feel distant, formal, and difficult to access. I want to do something different.

That is why I am starting a simple series of neighborhood conversations called Coffee with Nicole.

Instead of holding traditional campaign events, I will be sitting at a table in coffee shops around District 3 for about an hour. No speeches. No formal program. Just a chance for neighbors to sit down, ask questions, and talk about the issues affecting our city.

You can stay for five minutes or the whole time. If you have a question about housing affordability, small businesses, transportation, city budgets, or anything happening in Portland, pull up a chair and let’s talk.

This idea also reflects something that is personally important to me. Coffee shops have always been places where communities gather. They are where people meet, exchange ideas, and build relationships. As someone who has spent many years working in the coffee industry, it feels natural to bring these conversations into the spaces where our community already comes together.

Ladd’s Addition, Portland

Floyd’s Coffee has long been part of the neighborhood fabric in Ladd’s Addition, and I am grateful for the opportunity to spend some time there talking with neighbors and visitors.

If you are nearby on Sunday morning, stop in, grab a cup of coffee, and say hello. I would love to hear what is on your mind and what you think Portland needs to move forward.

This will be the first of many Coffee with Nicole conversations across District 3 in the coming months. I look forward to meeting many of you along the way.
